Money Started To Self And Friend To Judge The Impact Of The Behavior And Characteristics Of ERP Research

Money is essential in our real life, so more and more researchers are concerned about the impact of money on people’s psychological and behavioral. Only a better understanding of the impact of money on human, we can make better use of it to play an active role, and to avoid the negative effects. Previous studies found that the money is likely to impact on human behavior by "self", so in our studies we directly research the impact of money on processing self and friends, by asking participants perform trait judgment that referenced the self and her/his friend.The results suggest that the money priming have an impact on self and friends trait judgment. Behavioral results suggest that relative to neutral priming, participants make judgments about friends faster after mongy priming. We think the reason is that money priming motivates people’s interpersonal insensitivity motivation which makes people reduce attention to friends. Less attention, coupled with relatively simple experimental tasks, makes participants think less of friend, which leads participant judge faster. In addition, we don’t find the impact of money priming on self-trait judgments. ERP results show that, relative to neutral priming condition, self-judgment triggers a larger N300-400after money priming, and friends-judge triggers smaller N80-150and N300-400after money priming. These results suggest money priming leads people pay more attention to self and less attention to friends in the early phase of the trait judgment. So our results approve the two motives of Vohs’s self-sufficiency theory:autonomous motivation and interpersonal insensitivity motivation. We also found that the money priming leads smaller P400-700in self-judgment condition, we think the reason is that money priming lead self attain more attention in the early phase, so it doesn’t need more attention in the last phase.
