Currently, the early Chinese painted bronze was first discovered in the late Shang Dynasty and rapidly developed in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. So far the early Chinese painted bronze have seen33through archaeological excavations. It is an important category of ancient Chinese bronzes, occuping a very important position. Although the study of ancient bronzes has been begun from the Northern Song Dynasty, but because of different emphases, the past scholars always focus on the general aspects of the cast bronze, few scholars conducted a systematic and comprehensive exposition about early Chinese painted bronze.
