In ancient Chinese society,the conferring honor system is an effective means ofcommunicating and promoting loyalty,filial morality,courtesy and other traditionalvirtues, but also the wind vane of studying ancient Chinese social and culturalorientation,which is almost throughout the entire course of development of ancientsociety.In addition, as a method to maintain virtue except of administrative and legalmeans,the conferring honor system, to some extent, has made up the lack ofadministrative,legal system,and has balanced the executive order and law enforcementefforts which formed a effective complementary.This enables the state authority andhis will penetrate to people peacefully and effectively and make the people voluntarilyaccept and practice the standard of value which are proclaimed by the ruler in theprocess of pursuit conferring system, It will have big influence on bolstering civilian,guiding customs, educating the public and stabilizing society.The Yuan Dynasty is an important period in the development of the conferringhonor system. And it has special historical statues which is coming from Tang andSong dynasties and contributing to Ming and Qing dynasties. The conferring honorsystem becoming to standardization and institutionalization in this period, has arelatively fixed applications, audit, payment procedures and consider reward andpunishment providing useful reference to development of the Ming and Qingconferring honor system. This paper attempts to study relative historical documentsrelated to the Yuan Dynasty with the existing research results, and try to explore themain target of the Yuan Commendation systems, methods, subjects, procedures andother issues, to gain a view of the Yuan Dynasty conferring honor system features,functions It will not only reveal the status of Commendation system in the history ofthe Yuan Dynasty in ancient China Commendation development, but also provide anew perspective for the re-interpretation of the history of the Yuan Dynasty.
