On Dong Zhongshu Social Ethics And Its Significance

Since the country was produced in human history,Ethics was formed.There aremany meaningful about social ethical thought in Chinese traditional culture,especially Confucian thinkers have been play a decisive role effect on Chinesethought. Dong Zhongshu as a representative of the Han Dynasty Confucianism, hissocial ethics’ thought is a Confucian ethical thought for the first time to the actualimplementation, on the other hand, the organic integration of the social ethics, has animportant influence on the feudal ethics.This paper mainly discusses the basis of Dong Zhongshu’s social ethics thoughtforms, and mainly discusses the main contents of Dong Zhongshu’s social ethics, fromhis philosophy of thought according to the beginning,expounds the connotation of"three cardinal guides" he thought and his moral education thought.His thought’shistorical value and the practical significance is discussed in this paper.The first part of this paper mainly explains the Dong Zhongshu’ social ethicsthought forms. Including the formation of Dong Zhongshu’ social ethics economicfoundation, political foundation, culture foundation and the origin of thought. Ineconomy, the early Han Dynasty to "recuperate and build up strength" economicpolicy, after nearly seventy years of development, the national economic recovery anddevelopment to a certain extent, but the economic development is not balanced,landlords have gained more and more land, while the common people are losing tosurvive on land, which leads to the social order is not stability, social fairness andjustice is not clear,the widening gap between rich and poor. In politics, because at thebeginning of the Chinese the "degree of" political system, so the domestic politicalsituation complex, part of the no respect for the authority of the central government,to reverse, while the periphery of the ethnic minority areas are constantly violated theborder, not subject to the Han Dynasty’s management,Han had to think about how toprotect themselves rule. In culture, various factions have their own discussion abouthow to establish the social ethics, the practice of the social ethic rapidly defeated, atthe beginning of the Chinese practice of Taoist social ethics can not solve the situationof domestic trouble and foreign invasion, which makes the new social ethics thoughtimminent. In the thought origin, the thought of Dong Zhongshu directly from the preQin Confucianism, Confucius, Mencius proposed "benevolence" theoryand"etiquette" Xunzi thought a great influence on Dong Zhongshu, at the same time,the Taoist theology is Dong Zhongshu directly absorbed and constructed his owntheological system. Dong Zhongshu’s social ethics has important influence on Chinesetraditional culture, first of all, he completed the cultural meaning of "unification",secondly, he put forward the universe main body to "day" as the core of the theory, atlast, his thoughts had important influence on the legal construction of our country.However, his thought also has the limitation, one aspect of his thought based onfeudal theology, no reasonable ideas according to the rule, on the other hand, histhought is mainly used to maintain the feudal order, with the continuous developmentof society, will eventually be eliminated.
