The Tangut Script of "Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory" Volume Five was unearthed in1917in Ningxia,it was removed to the Beijing Library (now the National Library), after several twists and turns, and it is one of the remaining publication of the Tibetan Tripitaka. So far no one has ever made a comprehensive sort-out and research. The object of the thesis is the Tibetan Tripitaka, which is not only because that it is better preserved, but it has never been researched by the predecessors. Therefore, it is of great significance to make a comprehensive research.It is also of great significance to the characteristics of translation of the The Tangut Script, as well as the Tangut Script research.The thesis includes four parts:Chapter one:the introduction. Firstly, it made a general introduction to the unearthing of the script and its collection. Secondly, combined with the China-Xixia Documents and the Bibliography of Tangut language of Buddhism, it made a very clear introduction to the Tangut Script and the Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory, which is now collected in the Russian east institute. Finally, it states the significance of the research and the research status as well as the approaches.Chapter two:the Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory and The Tangut Script. Period one:the brief introduction to The Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory in terms of its author, the reason for its composition, the main content and some information about the translator. Period two:the The Tangut Script of "Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory": the translation, emendation and the time of stamp mark were verified. Some basic characteristics of the edition were also introduced.Chapter three:The Tangut Script of "Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory" Volume Five and its basic explanation. This chapter is the main part of the thesis. This part includes only the Tangut and Chinese version without any translation. Some explanatory notes were made. The explanation includes four parts, namely, the original text, translation, the Tangut version copy for the record and some explanatory notes.The original text and the translation were put forward without any punctuation. The fragmentary words, when appeared for the first time were corrected and explained. When it appeared again, it will only be corrected without explanation. The original text was made a contrast with the translation.In the process of translation, the translation will be made according to the Chinese copy when necessary. Others will be translated word by word. Explanatory notes includes some emendation explanation of the original script, part of the words, Buddhism and some special grammar phenomena. Word explanation was based mainly on the Xia Han dictionary, in which the imperator is exact, it wont be listed below. The document was mainly from the Xia Han dictionary, any other source will be explained.Chapter four:conclusion.This chapter is a conclusion and general research into the questions.Period one:the translating style of the Tangut Script of "Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory". The translation is mainly word-for-word translation while some of them are flexible. The reason for this phenomenon is that the Tangut Script of "Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory" as an abstruse theory is typically difficult to understand for any person who does not have a deep understanding about the buddism. So most of them are word-for-word, only a few part of them can be translated flexibly. Period two:the linguistic research into the Tangut Script of "Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory". This part mainly discussed the newly appeared language in terms of some new word and usages and added some new items of usages of some new words. At the same time, some parallel adverbs were discussed. Period three:the Buddhist terminology, in this part the Buddhist terminology were discussed and found that the Buddhist terminology in the Tangut Script of "Abhidharma Shun Positive Theory" basically correspond to the Chinese version.
