Imagery Dialogue Intervention On Young Insecure Attachment

Attachment plays an important role in individual’s development of body and mind. Comparing with secure attachment adolescents, insecure attachment adolescents are more likely to produce a series of psychological problems:It’s easier for them to have negative emotion and feeling, bad relationships, and a variety of problem behaviors. So, it is very important for us to build a secure attachment through intervene the insecure attachment. Adolescence is not only a transition period in our life, but also a period, in which many problems are easily to happen. Therefore, this article chose the adolescence as the object of the study:Firstly, in order to know the situation of the adolescence’s attachment, the author using Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment to survey494adolescents. Secondly, according to the extreme division, we selected83insecure attachment adolescents as an imagery group. Thirdly, the imagery group’s adolescents were divided into three parts:father insecure attachment, mother insecure attachment and peer insecure attachment. Each part had an imagery imagination. Then, summarized the common images regularity from the three parts. According to the regularity, formulated the specific intervention program. Finally, applied Imagery Communication Psychotherapy to intervene three individual cases, which selected from the83insecure attachment. The results were as follows:(1)There was a significant difference in adolescent attachment between secure attachment and insecure attachment.(2)The attachment of adolescence has a significant difference in gender, grade, mother’s work place and parents’education level.(3)Insecure attachment adolescents’ house imagery:the appearance of house is shabby, the material of house is hard, and the indoor lighting is dark.(4)Insecure attachment adolescents’animal imagery:the largest number is herbivorous animals and other kind animals, the number of rabbit imagery is more than other animal imagery in herbivorous animals, while the dog is a typical representative imagery in other kind animals.(5)This Imagery Communication Psychotherapy has a positive effect on father insecure attachment and mother insecure attachment. In contrast to it, there is no significant effect on the intervention of peer attachment.(6)Three months later, the investigation on three adolescents still has a good prognosis for effect, the follow-up post-test result’s is higher than the post-test’s.
