"Zai Sheng Yuan" Thought

The Destiny of Rebirth is a masterpiece of tanci writted by Qiantang talented woman ChenDuansheng in the Qing Dynasty Qianlong period.It has a very wide effect in folk.As therepresentative of tanci-novel,The Destiny of Rebirth with its excellent ideas and artisticachievements has very important place in the history of Chinese Folk Literature and even in thehistory of Chinese Women Literature.This paper chooses The Destiny of Rebirth’s ideas as themain reseach object,and studys its progressiveness and limitation combining with the author’sage and social background systematically from three aspects——ideas on Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,aesthetics thought,and the comparison with the modern drama.This paper is divided into three parts including introduction, main body, and conclusion.The specific contents are summarized as follows:The introduction mainly reviews the history and the present situation of the research on TheDestiny of Rebirth, and clarifies the significance and perspective of this paper.The first chapter“The Destiny of Rebirth’s authors and its creation background”.First,probeinto Chen Duansheng’s family background and her writting process of one to17volumes.Second,review Liang Desheng’s family background and its sequel.Then, syntheticallyanalyze The Destiny of Rebirth’s social background of creation,and mainly inquire the importantinfluence of the prosperity of talented woman culture and zhejiang culture for female writers’swriting.The second chapter “The Destiny of Rebirth’s ideas on Confucianism, Buddhism andTaoism”. First of all,summarize the time background of three religions fusion.Next,respectivelydiscuss the thought of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism embodied in the work and itsrelationship with the general mood of society.The third chapter “The Destiny of Rebirth’s aesthetic thought”.This section concretelyanalyzes the impact of the social aesthetic fashion on The Destiny of Rebirth from two aspects——“feminine” aesthetic fashion of female disguised as men and “popularization” aesthetictemperament and interest of worship for three-inch “golden lotuses”.The fourth chapter “Scanning The Destiny of Rebirth’s ideas from teleplay adaptation”.Thesection compares the original with TVB and mainland TV series The Destiny of Rebirth tosurvey the progressiveness and limitation of the original better from three aspects——the themeexpression, emotion model and the ideal being an official.The conclusion part summarizes the advances and limitations of The Destiny of Rebirth’sideas,and the relationship with its time and society.
