Handel, a great composer of the Baroque period, was honored as the mainstay in theclassical vocal music history. Handel’s compositions have always been an importantrole in vocal music, which brought numerous pieces for vocal music learners as wellas providing great academic value for vocal music education. Because of the difficultcoloratura skill in his compositions, it is of great significance for vocal musiceduation and performance to study and analyze his compositions. As a comparativelydifficult technique in singing, coloratura is not easy to be mastered. When performingcoloratura, a singer’s voice is required to be etheral and mellow; the register iscoherently connected; the singing of mucal scale must be coherent and constant. Anexcellent coloratura soprano is required to have strong singing skills and artisticcontent. Performing each grace note and quick phrase of coloratura perfetly is theessential part of every musical part. By using the aria ’Da Tempeste Il Legno Infranto’singing by Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare, the author makes a deep analysis of coloraturatechniques in Handel’s compositions and tries to find an efficient way of learningcoloratura.
