Nobody knows Maurits Cornelis Escher, who likes a naughty child that hides in thecorner, obsessed with his vision game, compared with the master of modern art, for examples,Picasso and so on. However, people found this game make a lot of fun to them suddenly,which creative show a wonderful world of art and science’s blend. He described the scenerythrough the model that is made by the scientific method, and practice various special ways.His works show the calm and rational pictures that are far beyond the traditional aestheticsignificance. Escher who is a tester wandering between art and science, tested and verifiedscientific beauty exist from a new angle, the subjects.The paper expresses the new perspective on the interaction between science and modernart, taken the scientific paradigm in Escher’s paintings as an example. I use the modernscientific theory to examine the important role of science in the arts, and puts forward that theartists should have the scientific literacy, and aim to build up the new relationship between artand science, and promote the prosperity and development of them better. The paper’sframework has four parts: the first part is the introduction, mainly introduced the background,research purpose and research status at home and abroad and other basic situation; second partis Escher’s art history, discuss his work’s themes, characteristics, and formation’s factors; thethird part is a comprehensive analysis scientific factors which are contained in the Escher’sworks, and his extreme effort on the interpretation of the art and science; the fourth part is thestudy of art mechanism of science by the case of Escher, and stress the important significanceof the fusion of art and science, reason and perceptual. With the development of science andtechnology, the science drive the art is in the reconstruction of the language, symbols and theparadigm, and the closed, experience and intuitive representation form of art will be impactedin the era of development, which requires the artists have scientific literacy, use theinformation technology to explore well, through the imagination make more beautiful works.
