On Cai Hezhou Art

This is a comprehensive research article that described an artist named Cai Hezhou who has enriched and supplemented the modern art history of China. Cai Hezhou(1912-1971)and his painting arts were once being an phenomenon around Fuzhou and Shanghai in the period of the Republic of China. After establishment of RPC, Cai Hezhou moved to Xi’an and devote all his attention to paint and create. and it was great contribution to the art development in North region of PRC made by Cai. Cai’s unique arts were not only based on Northern and Southern Chinese styles, but also merged Eastern and Western Cultures. The topics were chose from rich and varied ways. Although Cai was one of the most important artist in Chinese history, his life story was forgotten gradually for some reasons. Therefore, this article was focusing on Cai’s career, art style and art spirit by using comparison, contrat, and other integrative analysis.
