The research of food culture geography is for research the relevant elements of food culture geography in one historical period,including of food production, food processing, cooking techniques, distribution of chefs and restaurants,eating habits and so on. compared with the traditional food culture history,the regional property and extensity of food culture geography research is more evidence.Specifically speaking, food culture geography research is from the perspective of the interact of people and region and distribution of the time and space to contrast the difference of different regions.This paper is for research the Chengdu and Chongqing’s food culture geography from1840to1949,the Significance of this reaserch not only deepen understanding of Food Culture Development in this period,but also contribute to the research of Chengdu and Chongqing’s food culture geography.The article discusses the following main aspects:The first chapter is correlation analysis of the overview, feature,change and reason of Chengdu and Chongqing’s traditional food species.The second chapter is mainly discussion the becoming of Sichuan cuisine and the distribution of its sects, including of the overview of Sichuan cuisine,the history of Sichuan cuisine and the distribution of its sects.The third chapter is for research distribution of chefs and restaurants on the basis of understanding of Sichuan cuisine and its sects.The fourth chapter is correlation analysis the change of Chengdu and Chongqing’s food culture custom, including of festival eating customs, food taboos and diet trend.The fifth chapter reviews and summarizes of the first four chapters, and thus analyze the feature that Chengdu and Chongqing’s traditional food is fragrant and hotPractice shows that from the perspective of regional property in historical geography researching the phenomenon of food culture not only contribute to deeping and expanding the traditional diet history,but also completing historical geography’s research. The ultimate aim of this research make positive significance to both traditional diet history and historical geography.
