Mergjih,83years old, Mongolian, National first-level composer, Music theorist and Educator, Inner Mongolia autonomous region literature and art "outstanding contribution award" winner. In this paper, the author reproduces Mergjih’s life course by collecting his oral history through anthropological life history research method, and then sums up his art career. Life history research method is a kind of studying method recording interviewee’s oral history through interview, voice recording and video recording to collect historic point of view, to study history in-depth. The main research object of the paper is Mergjih’s life history. The author analyzes Mergjih’s behavior from the perspective of life course theory to show How Mergjih’s personal development is affected by the social change, to reflect the course of his life has become the results of social force and social structure.This paper consists of six parts. The introduction part explains the purpose, significance and studying methods of the research. Chapter I introduces the growth environment, family education and the learning experience of Mergjih mainly based on Japanese. Chapter II introduces Mergjih’s enrollment by Inner Mongolia WenGongTuan and the experience of joining the revolution. ChapterⅢ introduces Mergjih’s experiences of studying and working in Shanghai Music College. ChapterIV introduces his work life in the Inner Mongolia School of art, what he encountered in "the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution" and his academic research later. Chapter V describes Mergjih as factory director in the Inner Mongolia film studio, his main music works and later life experience, analyzes the role of intellectuals presented in his life. The conclusion part summarizes Mergjih’s influence on Mongolian music research, Mongolian art development and Mongolian society and culture.
