After the end of the Cold War,China became the major object of Americancontainment strategy,and the "Tibet issue" also has once again become an important tool ofthe United States to containing China after a temporary remission of this two Countries.In2009,Obama’s administration came to power with the policy of "return to the east Asia",moving its national strategic gravity to the east, the "Tibet issue" becomes an importantpart of America’s China strategy.This paper aims to comprehensively analysising the policybackground, the specific policy to Tibet and the characteristics carries on Obama’s firstterm in White House (2009.01--2013.01). With a hope that through this research, we cancorrectly grasp the essence of the meddling of the “Tibet issue” and how to deal with itscontainment policy toward China of the United States.What’s more,providing somereferences to safeguarding national sovereignty and reducing adverse effect between theSino-US relations which brought by the "Tibet issue".
