Rising in early twentieth century, American oil consortium represented byRockefeller plays a decisive role in U.S. diplomatic mechanism. With a huge amountof overseas capital involvement, American oil consortium aims at seizing most cheapoil field as well as a vast market. Thus it tends to take an active role in U.S.diplomacy including the decision-making of the country’s global strategy as to serveits own interests. American oil consortium’s strong influence roots in its huge wealthand absolute control over national economy. In U.S., the political power of oilconsortium in diplomatic field is exerted in various ways, such as manipulatingpresident election, occupying key position in government as well as sponsoring thinktank. The vital interest of American consortium is pursuing profit to the maximum, thus is inevitably at cross purposes with overall interests of United States in someoccasions.
