The Laos People’s revolutionary party is the core of leadership for the cause of socialism with the Laos People’s Democratic Republic, and the dominant force to promoting Laos economic reform and opening up. Since August1975taking power across the country, the Laos People’s revolutionary party always adhere to the Marx Lenin theory combining with Laos, experienced a series of severe test like upheaval of the former Soviet union, the Asian financial crisis, and the leadership of the Laos People’s Democratic Republic in February3,2013formally joined the World Trade Organization of158th member states. As a central Asian country’s ruling party The Laos People’s revolutionary party is necessary to constantly change from the new international and domestic reality, pay attention to the new situation and new study of capitalism from theory and socialist; only in this way, the Laos People’s Democratic Republic of the socialist cause can progresses day by day, the guiding status of Marx Lenin doctrine in Laos can be strengthened, the Laos People’s revolutionary party’s ruling level and theoretical level to a new level constantly.After Laos people’s democratic republic was founded in1975, its domestic political was stable. Laos started to copy the Soviet model for national economic construction which had played a positive role in the initial period of development of socialism. However, as many conditions had changed in international and domestic, the Soviet model was not adapted to the Laos requirement of modernization. In order to maintain the stability of country and promote the development of the economy, Laos began to carry on the preliminary attempt of reform in1979. Laos’s people’s democratic republic adopted the opening up economic reform to remove the disadvantages of the Soviet model. Laos’s biggest neighbor, China was the first country to start the socialist reform and opening up in the late1970s. The Laos people’s revolutionary party attached great importance to study and draw lessons from China’s experience. Meanwhile, another important neighbor of Laos, the socialist republic of Vietnam, was carrying on the reform of the privatization of state-owned enterprises after implementing land privatization. Both socialist neighbors had provided the direction of the reform and lessons learned for Laos journey of reform and opening. After nearly30years of reform, although Laos’s economy had great progress, many problems still existed in its economy.In the premise of Socialist system, the People’s Revolutionary Party of Laos must learn the experience and lessons from the reform of China and Vietnam. But they must conduct their own reform according to their own actual situation in Laos so as to promote the development of productive forces and the improvement of people’s living standard. Only in this way, the People’s Revolutionary Party of Laos can improve their theoretical and ruling level, consolidate the ruling status and consolidate the socialist system of Laos. From the perspective of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Laos, this article is mainly about the following aspects. Look back to the economic and social development of Laos before the reform and opening up and the development process in recent30years. Analyze the progress and achievements of the development of social economy since the founding of Laos especially since the reform and opening up. Summarize the historical and realistic problems in the economic development since the founding of the Laos People’s Democratic Republic. Put forward some countermeasures and suggestions about the economic and social development directed against the main obstacle factors. Only keep firmly to socialist road, Laos can develop itself and realize the dream of Laos:the nation and people get strong and rich.
