Economic Diplomacy In Vietnam Since The Reform And Opening Up

The economy diplomacy policy has not only played an important role in the strategy of foreign affairs of Vietnam but also is one of the vital pillars for Vietnam’s Reform and Opening policy. With the promotion of Vietnam’s Reforming and Opening, the position of economy diplomacy has been in a rising trend and entered into the core place of its development strategy. Vietnam has carried out economy diplomacy policy not only for meeting the needs of its development of socioeconomic but also for integration the international society and chasing its interests. The economy diplomacy serves for the political safety, society steady and economy development of one country meanwhile it should match the global economic development at president although it has been affected by many variables such as domestic situation, state strategy and international situation. The economy diplomacy has become one of the important foreign affair policies in Vietnam from6th CPV National Congress and has made interaction with political diplomacy for it presents characteristics as its position promoted, its objects enlarged, its priorities shifted, its structure optimized, its contain enriched, its strategy reformed. It is not until11th CPV National Congress, the economic diplomacy has poses the core position of the Vietnam’s diplomacy strategy and paralleled with political diplomacy. The economy diplomacy prompted the procedure of the Opening and Reforming policy and become the motivation of the economy structure which ensures Vietnam as one of the fast developing and most dynamic countries in Asia.It is the economy globalization that pushes Vietnam to confront a large developing challenge. After analysis the experiences and lessons of Vietnam economy diplomacy, we wish it can offer a reference to China. However, we should pay much attention on the relations of Vietnam with U.S., Japan, and India as well.
