Significant change had happened in the late1980s in Taiwan’s political formation. Kuomintang(KMT) opposition asked the KMT to lift martial law and end the dictatorship, the voice of a democratic political spread one after another. Due to dissatisfaction with the KMT’s ethnic identification and ethnic policy, accounted for only2%of the total population of Taiwan Aboriginal KMT authorities demands of "name"/"land"/"autonomy" and a series of other rights, through establishing the publication of underground publications/rights organizations, and even taking the street protests, which set off the climax of the indigenous peoples’movement. Then, Aboriginal got lots of political attention and became the new darling of academic research. In terms of the aboriginal rights movement, The movement of changing names not only involving the official recognized standards, but also involve the ethnic’response to the official request to achieve the name target. Currently, the study on the identification of Taiwan’s aboriginal tribes was still weak in mainland China, so I believe that we need to strengthen the research. The purpose of Taiwan aboriginal tribes’ identification was to heritage and protect the aboriginal culture, which were important measures to implement the ruling purpose. In this article, firstly summarize systematically the classification of indigenous people from the Qing Dynasty to the Nanjing National Government, to get better understand from a longitudinal perspective of indigenous peoples in the new era; Secondly, analysis the influencing factors of Taiwan’s aborigines identification; Finally, comparing some aspects of minority ethnic identification between Taiwan and mainland China in the minority ethnic not identified, to learn from each other, and constantly improve, which can learn from each other. In this paper, the research methods were literature and interviews. As personal limited capacity, the interview only covered a narrow range. In addition, another defect was that I failed to discuss the demands of the descendants of the Peipo ethnic group and the relevant laws/policies etc.The study found that the fundamental basis of Taiwan’s aboriginal tribes identification were mainly by blood/religion/substance/folklore/language, and the kinship and language were the most important considerations. In addition, considering the difference elements reduced gradually account, the self-identity elements were also concluded, as much as possible to reach equilibrium. The Taiwan official focused much more on kinship and language, however, the aboriginal elite and intellectuals focused on a constructivist point of view, to accomplish the goal of Aboriginal identified.
