| In the1940’s,the historical development of Czechoslovakia features a growing resemblance to the Soviet Union, the establishment of the Stalinist-like political system in the end and a radical alienation from the United States, which absolutely keeps in consistent with the transformation of the strategy between the Soviet Union and the United States, and the policy shifts among the united states and the soviet union towards the Eastern Europe.After the World War II, the overwhelming influence of the political and military power from the Soviet-American in the Eastern Europe determines their say in Czechoslovakia affairs. In consequence, the postwar international situation has witnessed great changes. the Soviet Union and the United States have comprehensively enforced their penetration in the Easter Europe, especially Czechoslovakia, the country with highly developed military industries. Gradually, the diplomatic relations of the Soviet-American has confronted its freezing point.Based on the studies on Czechoslovakia at home and abroad, and supported by related materials, this thesis is designed to present an interpretation about the determining factors of Soviet-American on the historical process of Czechoslovak from1942to1948.This article consists of four parts:Part one covers the period from1942to1945, during which the Soviet-American has imposed great influence on Czechoslovak political development. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Germany, there appears two political forces outside the country, the Czechoslovakia Communist party and the Benes government-in-exile. Due to the ideology and international environmental reasons, the Czechoslovakia Communist Party has accelerated its expanding speed with the help of the Soviet Union, the Benes government-in-exile has also developed into a major political force under the assist of the British and the United States. As a result, these two forces have finally determined the political process of Czechoslovak together.Part two mainly discuss the military withdrawal and the Soviet-American policies in the Marshall plan after the World War II. On that time, the Soviet Union and the United States, decided to withdraw from the Czechoslovakia in term of their own interests.Later on, American put forward the Marshall economic recovery plan in order to accelerate the recovery speed,and implement the control over the Europe. However, this plan has met its Waterloo, since Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin, the top leader of the the Soviet Union had sensed this plan would impact bad effect on their country, and finally called for all the neighbor countries to refuse this plan. Consequently, this Soviet-American confrontation has imposed severe influence on Czechoslovakia.Part three explains the "February revolution" and the United State’s policy towards Czechoslovakia. when the Soviet-American Cold War is approaching, the two major political forces inside Czechoslovakia also battles for power. Finally, under the strong support of Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin and the acceleration of the "February Revolution", the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia has successfully kicked out the Benes Government-in-exile and ultimately come to the throne.Part four comprehensively demonstrates the Soviet-American policy towards Czechoslovakia after the "February Revolution". After the revolution, the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia came to the throne. Under the diplomatic support of the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia has finally established a genuine strategic partnership with the Soviet Union, which remains unaffected from the tough "non-military" sanctions of the United States. |
