In late Qing Dynasty, as facing complex environment, the traditional political system ofChina couldn’t meet the environmental conditions any longer. With the gradually increasinginternal and external pressure, the traditional absolute monarchy became more and moreprecarious. In1905-1911, the constitutional reform in late Qing Dynasty not only aroused theconcern of other countries in the world, but also had a profound effect on the constitutionaldevelopment of modern China.Although a series of political reforms in late Qing Dynasty had failed, it also got a seriesachievements of great significances. Since the entire constitutional reform was prominent intime, extent, scope and practical effect, we can say that it was a real sense of political changemovement in the history of China. The constitutional reform promoted the development ofChinese nationalism and citizen’s awareness of the country. It not only gave us experience andthe lessons learned, but also left valuable wealth. With the excavation of cultural andhistorical data, it’s becoming more and more valuable to study its status and influence in thedevelopment of modern Chinese political history.
