Research On The Responsibility Of Media Education In The Cultivation Of Socialist Core Values

The current international environment of all-round opening up, in the western culture isthe mutual impact and fusion, all kinds of thoughts and values mixed together, formed apowerful impact on the mainstream culture, the core values of socialism lost cohesionstrength. The Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC proposed the call of cultivating andPracticing Socialist Core Values, this is a important task that need the whole Party and thepeople of all our ethnic groups condensed wisdom and strength and struggle for a long time,but also the mass media’s historical mission and social responsibility. Journalists are the mainforce in this important task of mass media.At present, affected by the economic and social environment, the socialist core valuesappeared to weaken, media education also exist many problems. Media professionaleducation’s teaching idea is backward, pay more attention to teach book instead of "moraleducation", the curriculum structure is unreasonable, emphasis on "theory" contempt"practice", teachers lack of experience, school lack of funds and equiped with backwardtechnology and equipment. The importance of media literacy education is not enough, theschool and social media literacy education is lack, citizens face the complex mediaenvironment, media literacy level needs to be improved.The lack of media education brings negative influence to cultivate the socialist corevalues produced.Journalists abandon the social responsibility, the occupation ethics andintegrity,encourages the vulgar decadent values, resulting in the mass media contentvulgar,utilitarian and homogenization. In addition, the lack of media literacy education leads to thelow media literacy level of citizen, difficult to face the massive information and find falseinformationin in we-media age,spread blindly.Facing the invasion of foreign culture, pepoleare difficult to maintain independence culture. These are not conducive to the cultivation ofsocialist core values.Media professional education needs reform, media literacy education need to getattention and promotion.It is important to grab "people building" in order to cultivate socialistcore values from the root. This paper presents measures to reform media professionaleducation, including updating personnel training philosophy, adhere to the Marxist concept of journalism, innovation journalism ethics and moral education and so on. Meanwhile,promoting the media literacy education, on the basis of in reference to the advancedexperience and ideas of western media literacy education,on the go in line with China’s actualconditions of localization road, forming a multi-level and all-round media literacy education.Subject to universal education, the use of experiential and analytical method of combining,recognizing both the content and use of the media to build three-dimensional model oflifelong education.In the era of complex media environment, journalists have to become an observer ofsociety, thinkers and recorder, stick journalistic ethics ethics, and actively guide publicopinion, promote the cultivation of socialist core values;the citizensin ofa new era shouldhave social obligation and responsibilities to to enhance the pursuit of media literacy in avariety of ways,understand and use media and media information correctly, become a positiveenergy transfer, contribute.to foster socialist core values.
