Nepal, a medium-sized, economically weak and one of the least developed countries (LDCs) in the world, lies in between two giant nations, China in the North and India in the East, West and the South. After opening itself to the outside world in1951,following the fall of Rana regime and introduction of democracy, Nepal has been somehow successful to maintain good relations with the outside world. After1951,Nepal as a democratic country successively established its relations with the outside world, especially with its immediate neighbours. This thesis is aimed at covering the Sino-Nepal relation, which is developing in a spiral way vis-a-vis the relation between India and Nepal. China is in the list of superpowers and its’sphere of influence’is growing in the field of international relations of which Nepal cannot be an exception. Undoubtedly, China’s’soft power policy towards Nepal has been considered to be a central part of its influence in the nation. Moreover, this thesis basically moves not only around the Chinese aid and support in Nepal’s infrastructure development and economy, but also discusses about the effects upon the Nepalese foreign policy towards the outside world particularly in the field of the trilateral relations between Nepal, India and China.
