China’s modernization,in terms of the nature, timing and scale, isunlike any political reform movement in the history. In late Qing dynasty,China was facing new domestic and international environment, newchallenges and had no historical experience to follow. In this situation,China was on a hard road of transformation, in which the modernization ofdiplomacy is an important aspect. In this process, although the initiativewas rested in West countries, China could still compete for the leadingrole through active learn of the relevant knowledge of international lawand put them into practical use. This paper selected "China-GermanyTrade Treaty " and "Sino-Japanese Amity Treaty of1871" and "MudansheIncident" as a breakthrough way to observe the problem of the diplomaticmodernization of China. |
