As the second largest economy in the world today, the phenomenon of long time,large scale and sustained growth is called―Chinese miracle‖by the scholars all overthe world. While, people have pay more attention to leisure and the quality of lifebehind the economy growth. So it is becoming suitable to analysis them. Thus, thisresearch depends on theory study, empirical analysis, and experience facts to explorethe relationship between leisure and quality of life,First, this paper begins with the literatures, clarifying the relative views, andaims at finding the relationship between leisure and quality of life.Second, this research analysis the present situation of our people’s leisure,wanting to find the back-up theory behind the situation.This paper analyzes data covering all31provinces, autonomous regions andmunicipalities of Mainland China to examine national-level leisure time availabilityand leisure participation patterns among Chinese urban residents; explore regionaldifferences in leisure time availability and leisure participation patterns; and examinedemographic differences (based on gender, age, and income) in leisure timeavailability and leisure participation. The findings showed that Mainland Chineseenjoy relatively little leisure time and that strong contrasts exist in regionaldistribution of free time availability. People of all ages, genders and incomes show ageneral preference for passive/media and other home based activities and lowparticipation rates in exercise. Regional comparisons showed that residents of theNortheast were busiest, and, of all four regions, engaged most frequently in homebased activities and shopping, and least frequently in exercising. People in the West,on the other hand, had most leisure time and engaged in social activities mostfrequently. Differences in leisure time availability and leisure participation based ongender, age and income were also explored.Last but not least, for there are still exists the problem like our Chinese enjoys arelative low leisure time and activities, to introduce a series of polices are of greatimportance in improving the quality of life and promoting the development of society.So this research put forward some suggestions like work-leisure balance, andSummarizing package implementation.
