Abstract:Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres, which is the theoretical outcome conforming to China’s actual situation, is originated by CPC’s (the Communist Party of China) first generation of central collective leadership with Comrade Mao Zedong at its core by combining the general tenets of Doctrines of Youths and Cadres in Marxism-Leninism and the practice of building the ranks of young cadres in the long period of China’s revolution and construction. Systemic research on Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres and the deep-going understanding of it is not only of vital importance to the enrichment of research on Mao Zedong Thought and deepening of study of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres, but also will conduce to carrying out the work related to young cadres and building a body of young cadres with high quality at present. In this dissertation, the scientific connotation, research value, conditions for coming into being, developing process, main content, and significance of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres are discussed; on the basis of analyzing Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres in an all-round way, the key contents included in it are expounded in detail. The thesis can be divided into four chapters:Chapter One is about the scientific connotation and research value of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres. In this part, the scientific connotation of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres is defined at first; then the theoretical and practical value of this though is discussed. The defining of a concept and the value of a thought is the premise or basis of conducting an in-depth research of a problem, which can also be called the starting point of a study. Therefore, this part is the underlay of the whole research on Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres.Chapter Two deals with the forming conditions and development course of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres. Its forming conditions fall into two categories, that is theoretical conditions and practical conditions. The former mainly includes the doctrines on youth put forward by Marx and Engels, which is this thought’s direct theoretical source; Lenin’s theories of cadres, its main theoretical source; and the thoughts on talents in traditional Chinese culture. As for the latter, both Mao Zedong’s firsthand experience and the practice of Chinese revolution and construction contribute to it a lot. When it comes to the process of this thought’s development, it can be divided into three stages:the initial period of formation, the mature stage, and enrichment stage. This chapter is the key point of the study of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres as well as the innovation point of this dissertation.Chapter Three is on the main contents of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres. As the most important part of the research, the main contents of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres are expounded in this chapter. Mao Zedong’s thoughts of young cadres not only have a significant and far-reaching impact on the building of the ranks of Chinese young cadres, but also lay a solid foundation for adapting the doctrines of young cadres in Marxism to Chinese conditions, which is of much innovative significance. Thus, the basic contents of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres are taken as the key points of the study, aiming to depicting its overall structure and essence. Its basic contents mainly include four parts, namely, cultivating young cadres is very crucial for the future or prospect of the revolutionary cause; uniting with young people and organizing them are the key to the triumph of the revolutionary cause; focusing on the training, selection, management, and oversight of the young cadres; using the methods of training young cadres flexibly. Therefore, this chapter takes the most important part in this thesis and can be regarded as the difficult point of the research.Chapter four expounds the value and significance of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres. In this chapter, the author attempts to elaborate the significance and value of Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres, which can be discussed both from theoretical and practical perspectives. Viewed from the theoretical perspective, Mao Zedong’s thought of young cadres has carried forward and developed the doctrines of young cadres, what is more, it has also enriched and perfected the scientific system of Mao Zedong Thought. As for its practical value, it can not only foster the comprehensive development of young cadres, but also will be beneficial to guiding the building up of the ranks of young cadres. Although this is the last part of the dissertation, it contains some fresh points as well.
