Since the last century, Armenia has always been Russia’s indispensable strategic ally in theSouth Caucasus region. The Armenian Capital economics and the security have an importantrelationship with Moscow. However, with the deepened relations between the current governmentand the EU, Yerevan signed a comprehensive free trade agreement during the Eastern EuropeanNational Summit of Strategic partnership. At this important moment Moscow puts a great pressureon Armenia, as well as Ukraine and Moldova, reversing the direction of the process and forcingArmenia, Ukraine and Moldova to join the Russian-led Customs Union. The EU has also made itclear that the “Free Trade Agreement” and the “Eurasian Customs Union” membership can’t existsimultaneously. Armenia is rich in resources, in particular the huge oil and gas reserves, which islocated in the hinterland of the Eurasian continent, but also is an important strategic channel andconnects the transport corridor between Europe and Asia. Due to historical reason, there is a closelink between Russia and Armenia and the region is not only Russia’s traditional sphere of influence,but there is also a significant relationship between the national interests of Russia. Russia’s relationswith Armenia are upright because various countries affected and influenced Armenia’s political andeconomic situation and emerge different trends of development. Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia,where the three countries, that received the most impact on area separation, and territorial disputestriggered controversy and the conflict was likely to erupt, meanwhile the region is an important andstrategic channel and has rich oil and gas resources, and because of this the formed region becomesvery complicated. The geopolitical dominance of Russia in the Transcaucasia region was underserious threat, because of to the impact of the U.S., EU, Turkey and Iran. Russia’s new president tookoffice, and he will inevitably affect the situation in the region, and its president is bound to it by adjusting the external foreign strategic areas with Transcaucasia, and the relations with Armenianentered a new stage. Firstly, we need the use of history and theory of geopolitics and internationalrelations, analyze the relationship between the Russian and Armenian, to clarify the relationshipbetween history and current situation, that will affect the relationship between the underlying causes,and on the basis of the above research, describe the relationship between the developments of a newpath.
