The Teaching and Research Group is a grass-roots organization, which has close contact with school teachers, also it is a front for teachers to carry out teaching and research activities and to realize their self-development. In the context of school transitional change, as the primary legal person of TRG, the head of TRG faces both tremendous challenges and opportunities for development. As the school transitional changes going by, the role recognition of the head of TRG exert increasingly significant effect on the promotion of school’s reform. For this reason, the transformation of the traditional role of the head of TRG is becoming the realistic request of further advancement for the teaching reform in class and the teacher development. Focusing on exploring the implication of role of the head of TRG, on the basis of the daily practices in the school transitional changes, this article sets forth the existing phenomenon as well as the root cause of the problems in the traditional role recognition of the head of TRG, and then deeply analyses the factors that influence the need for change on the role of the head of TRG and if there is any possibility of the change. On these bases, the dissertation will put forward a series of practical strategies and the growth path to change the role.The first part of the thesis, focusing on the different practical states of the head of TRG, analyzes the problems and the origins existing in the role recognition of the head of TRG. There are three problems respectively, including role absence, role offside and role dislocation, and they present themselves distinctively according to the activities involved, named, self-role cognition, functions cognition of TRG, team states of TRG, research activity organization and teacher development, which can be attributed to three mistakes in management values, teaching and research values and the way of thinking.Under the realistic backdrop of school transitional change, on the second part of the thesis, it will discuss the necessity and possibility of transformation on the role of the head of TRG. On the one hand, the head of TRG has the needs to change their roles in terms of the realistic need of school management team development, the need of establishing research TRG, the need of their self-development;on the other hand, the role transformation is feasible on strong grounds, on the part of the head of TRG, as active individual persons, they are plastic for improvement in their capability, as the primary legal person of TRG, they should hone their leadship skills as well.The third part of the thesis firstly analyzes the prerequisite for transformation on the role of the head of TRG, including overhaul in school organization and system, as well as in the notions of management and research. Then it discusses some specific strategies for role transformation, including making development plans to enhance the sense of responsibility and people development, engineering monographic studies to enhance research awareness and initiative in planning capacity, organizing all kinds of teaching and research activities to enhance the organization and coordination ability and ability to promote reform. With the enforcement and propelling of these practical strategies, we together make great efforts to boost the transformation on the role of the head of TRG. Finally, it reveals the growth path for realizing the transformation on the role of the head of TRG.
