Chinese classical poetry and prose are the two bright pearls in the palace of ancient literature, high quality works can be found everywhere. Every dynasties’ literature theory also focus i’s energy on these two literature styles, so literature appreciation and criticism methods were varied, but the most powerful, have the most far-reaching impact one among them was Mencius’"ZhiRenLunShi". Later scholars often used this method in their literature studies and the collection of works.Before appreciation, the work of "ZhiRrenLunShi" is necessary. Because people thought a fully understanding of the background materials about the writer and the age can improve the appreciation. The reliability of this thought was proved right for the study of content in classical poetry and prose. In the tradition of "poetry expressing ideals" and" literature carrying Tao" which emphasized the practical efficacy, works will take most energy on chanting nature and practical useness.When many contemporary Chinese education scholars talk about reading teaching, they all gave a considerable attention on background materials. If background materials in ancient poetry and prose teaching can be used properly, it would be very helpful on students problems’ removing, deep understanding of works, interest in learning and improving of cultivation of ancient poetry article questioned reflection ability. But in the actual teaching, background materials’value fails to be developed or ineffective. After the analysis and diagnosis of such unsatisfactory phenomenon of teaching, the paper will also put forward some strategies. The first step is how to base on the works characteristic to select useful information from complex background materials; The followed step is when and where shall the selected background materials be introduced into class; Next step is the opportunity of this background materials’ introducing, mainly in the form of question’ presentation; The last step is the teaching activity on the background material grinding processing work. In addition, this paper also points out a number of issues that may easy occur on the class teaching when introduce and use the as complementary methods strategies.
