The administrationization of universities is one of the hot issues since the1990s,but what exactly is it, there are different opinions. It is difficult to give an unifiedstandard, therefore others refute that colleges and universities have noadministrationization. This paper, starting from the perspective of social structure andthe survey database of “Income Distribution and Incentives of Professional andTechnical Personnel in Beijing”, as well as the interviews, comprehensives qualitativeand quantitative research to find the deep-seated reasons. The social structure in theuniversities appears to the combination state that power and technical factorsdistribute the resources and opportunities together, rather than simply administrativepowers to decide the university affairs. This combination of technical factors andpower factors in the universities is concentrated in a special group, and that is trulyplays a decisive role in the universities. Members in the group hold a concurrent postof teaching and management, have the academic titles and the administrative level, asthe school administrative functions of the department heads or faculty leadership atthe same time. This group has its certain historical reasons and the role, but most of theresources and opportunities within the universities to grasp in its hands, leading to anadministrative generalization and resulting unfair distribution problems. Such aconcentration of power and the upward shift, lack of democratic rights to participatein university affairs, bring about the teachers and administrative staff lowerenthusiasm for work, and meanwhile, affecting the benign development of theuniversity seriously. In order to solve the above problems, it is necessary to start from the root of theuniversities. This paper argues that, we should start from the college’s social structureand morphology, inhibit the expansion of the school administrative powers, separateimpact of distribution of school resources and opportunities by powers and technicalfactors to expand the powers of the academic institutions, and remember that theadministrative powers should be supposed to serve the academic research.
