Learning style, as the basic feature shown in learners’ learning process, attracts more and more attention. Foreign studies in this area are more comprehensive, including researches in terms of different genders and ages of scholars. Studies on learning style started late in China, and the current study is basically on the learning style of school students and college students of the language class, while there is little research on the Physical Education students’learning style. Hence this thesis is mainly aimed at the PE students in our province, carrying out research studies and giving some teaching suggestions on sports majors. In this study, the Oxford style questionnaire (SAS) and the learning time preference measurement instrument were adopted to study on the learning style and learning time preferences of a scale of192sports majors and50common college students. And the results showed that:1.In terms of the perceptual learning style, sports majors showed the perception of the visual type; as to the cognitive learning styles, they showed tendencies of intuitive, open and the overall characteristics; as to personality learning style, they showed the tendency of extraverted type, and as to learning time preference, they preferred early morning, followed by night and morning, and afternoon-type were the least.2. The learning style of the PE students’in our province showed obvious gender differences, while the grade difference is not obvious. Among the gender differences, boys tended to be auditive, introversive and sequential type, while girls tend to be practical, extroverted and intuitive type. No significant gender and grade differences were showed in learning time preference.
