On The Inheritance And Varianon Worshipping Custom Of Mongolian Nationality In Wushen Banner

Mongolian fire worshipping custom is one of the Mongolian traditional culture with a long history. With the development of social history, Mongolia fire worshipping custom has changed. This article, taking Wulji Qaidam Gacha, Shaer Lige Sumu, Wushen Banner, Erdos City as a case, analyzes and discusses the inheritance and the variation of the fire worshipping custom of Mongolian Nationality in Wushen Banner, using the ways of participating, observation and in-depth interview in field investigation of folklore as research methods.This paper consists of five parts:introduction, two main chapters, conclusion and bibliography.The introduction part includes research survey, research objective and research methods.The first part,"Fire Worshipping Traditions of Mongolian Nationality", studies Mongolian Nationality’s understanding of the fire and how the fire worshipping tradition was formed. Based on such literature as "the Secret History of Mongols" and folk tradition, it analyzes the mythology awareness of the fire and the understanding of Fire God of Mongolian Nationality. It also analyzes the legend of the Fire God and discusses the historical track of the formation of Mongolian fire worshipping custom. The second part,"the fire worshipping custom of Mongolian Nationality in Wushen Banner", according to material of the field investigation in Wulji Chaidam Gacha, Shaer Lige Sumu, Wushen Banner, analyzes the preparations and the process of fire worshipping ceremony of Mongolian Nationality in Wushen Banner. Meanwhile it points out that the present status of fire worshipping tradition can be summarized into three states:inheritance, variation, loss. Then it makes inquire into the reasons of the variation of the custom.The conclusion part summarizes the origin of the Mongolian Nationality’s understanding of the fire and the formation the fire worshipping custom and then draw the conclusion that "the main reason of the variation of the fire worshipping custom of Mongolia in Wushen Banner is the change of their life space and their mode of thinking".
