Importance of problem solving in mathematics education is self-evident. Mathematics problem solving is the main content of studying mathematics. Professor Shan Zun pointed out:"mathematics exercises can not only consolidate the knowledge, but also develop your ability and wisdom. Therefore, mathematics problem solving let students know mathematical content, significance and method well." But the solving error of mathematical problem is often unavoidable, especially in the high school student. It is an actual significance to explore the causes of solving error of mathematical problem and improve the students’ ability of solving problems though reform of mathematics teaching.Firstly, this paper found that the current high school students lacked classification of habits to treat errors in solving mathematical questions and leaded to the same errors often was happened, by the questionnaires on the high school students’mathematics problem solving error and interviewing of teachers and students. Students didn’t or hardly analyze why they made mistakes of mathematics problem and they improved the ability relying on solving a lot of mathematical problems. In middle school mathematics teaching practice, the high school teachers mostly attributed students’ mathematics problem solving errors to that the students didn’t master the knowledge or students’ careless. And teacher thought the errors as lack of knowledge, only tried to summarize the knowledge of mistakes and careless. There was few teachers’analysis on students’ problem solving error. Some teachers realized the wrong problem collection on students’ learning helpful, but also lacked the proper guidance and analysis.Secondly, through classification for the wrong problem collection, the analysis of examples was concluded five aspects of students’ mathematics problem solving error:mental errors, understanding errors, conceptual understanding error, calculation error and logical error. According to the analysis of the causes of students’ problem solving error, seven measures were showed to improve mathematics teaching, including:development of the psychological quality, mathematical concept understanding ability, cooperative teaching, mathematical ability, problem-solving normative, students’ practical thinking and reflection problem solving.Finally, the studies showed they would improve student scores and obtain good results, but this kind of influence was slow, though the typical case analysis and comparing the results of students in same levels studying or not studying the wrong problem collection. In addition, studying the wrong problem collection could effectively guide senior high school students to mathematics review.The results of this study could be used to the future high school mathematics problem solving teaching to provide certain reference and reference.
