The professional ethics of teachers, with teachers’ moral personality as its focus, is an indispensable part of teachers’ professional quality, which makes study of teachers’ moral personality full of practical meaning. In the dissertation, aims and means of achieving it are discussed in detail on the basis of study of teachers’ moral personality.The concept, characteristics, and functions of moral personality of Chinese teachers are put forward, and ultimate aims and practical targets are discussed. Ultimate aims refer to ideal personalities with integrity, honesty and beauty homonymous integrated; practical ones refer to present targets combined with features of development of Chinese teacher majors, including three aspects:professional moral beliefs, feelings and purposes. Targets of Chinese teachers’morality personality construction are the unity of practical personality and ideal personality.Empirical measures are taken to carry out an analysis of the present situation of Chinese teachers’ moral personality, existing problems are pointed out, and the reasons are summarized as negative influences of market economy, ineffectiveness of construction of moral personality and social supervision system, and demerits of teachers’ indifferent.Professional means of construction of moral personality of Chinese teachers are brought up. The first is professional development, that is, Chinese teachers form their moral personality through incessant study, practice and reflection; the second is self-cultivation, that is, Chinese teachers advance ethics personality including ethics cultivations, psychological cultivations, and aesthetic cultivations in the process of perfecting self-qualifications.A summary of the dissertation is given, followed by future forecast. The future aim is to further teacher major morality construction, following the development of times, in terms of professional development of teachers with moral personality as its focus.
