Empirical Study Of Marriage And Marital Quality To Match Structure Of Social Transformation

As an important research subject in the field of demography and society, marriage isnot only the individual living entity, more is a kind of basic social settings. In this thesis,through the contrast of population marriage matching structure before and after the reformand opening up two times, we conclude that men and women’s socioeconomic statusindicators such as account properties, level of education, occupational class, unit type,income level and so on are showing the similarity enhanced trend, and that is to say,China’s population marriage similar matching has been strengthened durning the period ofsocial transformation, people tend to form a " matching " type of marriage.At the same time, static marriage matching structure affects the dynamic process ofmarried life in a long term, after wedding, each couple will begin a long-term beingtogether morning and night of marriage life. In this paper, multiple logistic regressionanalysis showed that the similar matching of social and economic status between thecouple has a positive effect to the three dimensions of quality of marriage, maritalrelationship satisfaction, material life satisfaction and marital conflict and intention todivorce, that is to say, marriage structure similar matching is helpful to enhance the qualityof marriage.
