Objective To describe the prevelance of dating violence, and to determine therelationship between repeat dating violence and pschosocial factors in high vocationalstudentsMethods The author choosing two high vocational colleges of a city in Anhui provinceused the cross-sectional retrospective survey methodology to conduct the survey bydesigning a class as a sampling unit among2222students in their freshman year andsophomore year. It made an anonymous questionnaire about the general status of thefamily, love, dating violence, psychological sub-health. Calculate the frequencies andpercentages of relevant indicators, EpiData3.0data input and SPSS11.0statisticalsoftware package, explore relevant factors of repeat dating violence by Chi-squareanalyses and multivariate logistic analysis. Results Findings indicated that among2222participants,764(34.4%) were male,1458(65.6%) were female, average age of19.7±1.1years. There were30.8%(685/2222) participants reported that they had intimate partner currently. Among685students,22.9%reported perpetrating dating violence (physical violence or/and mentalviolence or/and sexual violence) three times or more (repeat active dating violence),19.3%for male and25.0%for female;10.7%reported having been victims of datingviolence (physical violence or/and mental violence or/and sexual violence) three timesor more (repeat passive dating violence),14.9%for boys and8.3%for girls. Chi-square analyses showed that the rate of repeat active dating violence was higher instudents whose first dating age at15~17years old than that in others whose first datingage at≤14years old and≥18years old (χ~2=9.952,P<0.01). The rate of repeat activedating violence was higher in students whose parents often quarrel than that in otherswhose parents almost no quarrel (χ~2=11.645,P<0.01). And the rate of repeat activedating violence was higher in students who often be corporal punishment childhoodthan that in others who were almost no corporal punishment (χ~2=9.116,P<0.05). Thesedifferences were statistically significant. The rate of the repeat passive dating violencein male college students was higher than that in female(χ~2=7.256,P<0.01). The rate ofthe repeat passive dating violence was higher in students who self-assess lighterlearning pressure than that in others who self-assess general or heavier learningpressure(χ~2=16.028,P<0.01). The rate of the repeat passive dating violence was higherin students who often be corporal punishment childhood than that in others who werealmost no corporal punishment (χ~2=7.181,P<0.05). These differences were statisticallysignificant.Multivariate Logistic regression model showed that: first dating at eighteen years old ormore as a reference, first dating at15~17years old was greater risk of the repeat activedating violence. Quarrelling frequently between parents was greater risk of the repeatactive dating violence, relative to the others whose parents were almost no quarrelling.Self-assessing with lighter learning pressure was greater risk of the repeat passivedating violence, relative to the others who Self-assess with general learning pressure. Conclusion The phenomenon of dating violence among college students was common. The age of first dating and the relationship of parents are influential in the occurrence ofrepeat active dating violence, while the occurrence of repeat passive dating violencemay be influenced by self-assessing learning pressure. Concerned departments ofsociety should pay more attention to the phenomenon, and take active measurements to the prevention and control program on the base of school, family and community.
