21st century is an age of knowledge economy-oriented, high-speed update knowledge and more intense market competitions, not only provide opportunities for the development of human society, but also presented a more serious challenge. High school IT course is a foundation curriculum, it linked to the information age closely, shoulder the sacred mission to cultivate the times talents, High school IT courses advocated students express themselves thought, encourage students to use information technology to solve real problems, innovation in practice, and practice in innovation. Design thinking as an advanced form of thinking, it can effectively break the shackles of conventional thinking to generate new ideas and new ways to solve problems. It is not only fit to the ideas of high school IT course, but also an urgent need for person and society continuous progress and development in new era. So based on high school information technology courses, study the design thinking ability of students has direct practical significance, which will not only help enhance students’ personal information literacy, but also promote the development of the whole country.Firstly, clearly define the connotation and characteristics of Design Thinking, on the basis of analysis previous research on design thinking process and design thinking process mental activities, then summarized the three stages of the mental operations of the design thinking. By analyzing the mental activities of the various stages of the design thinking, building mental operations of the design thinking process model. Based on the model to extract the four key aspects of cultivating the design thinking ability of students, including increased the appearance of the objective things, promote divergence of thinking, strengthen association and imagination and enhance decision-making capacity.Then combines the unique advantages of the high school information technology courses on culture of design thinking ability, for each of the key aspects provide culture methods, and to verify effect by practicing at the high school IT courses teaching. It will provide direct guidance for teachers, who want to culture the design thinking of students in the high school IT courses; will provide reference for the follow-up study on the culture of design thinking ability.
