The rise of rural normal education is a very noteworthy change during thedevelopment of normal education in the period of Nanjing National Government. Therural normal education is also named the medium-sized normal education which isestablished in the rural area, and its aim is to culture rural primary school teachers.The emergence and development of the rural normal education not only expand thescale of normal education itself, but also indicate that the normal education began tofocus on the countryside, which is more and more closing to the reality and need ofthe Chinese society. Therefore, this thesis begins with studying the primary literatureon the rural normal education happened the period of Nanjing National Government.And then analyzes the related useful information from aspects of generatingmotivation, development overview, training objectives, curriculum, internship andgraduation services with historical research method systematically and thoroughly. Atlast, the lesson and the experience of the rural normal education in the period ofNanjing National Government can be drawn as a useful reference to the developmentof contemporary rural education and normal education. This paper is consisted of sixparts listed as follows:The introduction part introduces the background and the purpose of the studybriefly, demonstrates the theory basis and the practical value of the study, and theexisting academic study achievement about related topics.The first part is to discuss the generating motivation of rural normal education. Itmainly includes the popularization of rural education, normal education reformmovement and the movement of compulsory education in three aspects.The second part is to expound the development overview of rural normaleducation in detail. The development of rural normal education during the period ofNanjing National Government is divided into four stages, which are rising period(1912-1926), developing period (1927-1930), prosperous period(1931-1936) anddeclining period (1937-1949).The third and fourth part is to summarize training objectives, curriculum, studentinternship and graduation services of rural normal education. The thesis focuses onthe analysis and description of the different types of rural normal school curriculum atthe same time. The last part is to analyze the features of rural normal education and itsrevelations. Through the overview of rural normal education, analyzing andsummarizing the characteristics of rural normal education and its shortages, andexamining the current situation of rural education and normal education, somerevelations are proposed to enlighten the development of the rural education andnormal education in future.
