Junior middle school and hi gh school curriculum standards were included in m iddle school curriculu m standards during t he period of Nanjing National Government. S tudents’ own characteristics and different time periods were consid ered when formulating curriculum standards of different subjects by nation.Thus, curriculum standards not only show an im portant guiding role in teaching, but also reflect th e expectations and requiremen ts to students at dif ferent times from country.Since the foundation of Na njing National Government, the middle school history curriculum standards have been experienced several amendments from the time of the establishment to the late, also the content changed a lot and with di fferent values in different periods. Therefore, the res earch of the de velopment has great significance and influence the amendment process, and the focus of our study today is the development and evolution of m iddle school history curriculum standards.The development of the middle school curriculum standards have experienced a long period of ti me, tracing back to the Qing Dynasty when China vigorously initia ted the modern education, which has been laid on the prototype of th e standard curriculum, and extended to today’s history education.Still, many curriculum standards need to be amended, though, such a long t ime has been passed.The main em phasis of this article is the evolution of middle school history curriculum standards during the period of Nan jing National Government. From the initial development to several late amendm ents, the m iddle school history curriculum standards in th is period experienced a relatively complete development process.The time will be th e clue in this article, and divided into four stages accordi ng to the relevant documents issued about the formulation and amendments. With the detailed interpretation of middle school history curriculum standards during this period, we can grasp the historical trend of the standard course of this period even more intuitively. Finally, the form ulation and amendments of middle school history curriculum standards durin g the period of Nanjing National Government, with the com parison, exerted influences and enlightm ents on today’s history education.
