Respect education is a positive educational concept which is fulfilled with the spirit of age, leading the development of the era. Thanks to its ultimate concern, it will be an eternal lofty of education. However, what exposed on sorts of news constantly reveals the dilemma and anxiety of respect in the practice of education. How those teachers work in the front field understand "respect"? How the students feel of "respect"? Whether the subject of education receives respect which is they deserve? All above questions are need to probe. In addition, the school the author chooses takes "respect" as its educational philosophy. It also indirectly stimulates the author’s idea to research on implemental condition of respect education in basic education.Researches related to education respect have been a dominant research topic in our country and there are lots of studies. However, most studies still stay in a theoretical research stage, but empirical studies are relatively few. This paper adopts the method of investigation study and selects a junior high school in Anshan, Liaoning Province. The author carries on the survey on teachers and students in this school with three months’follow-up study. On the early investigation stage, the author irregularly listened to lectures given by teachers on different subjects in order to observe students’behaviors and interactions. Besides, the author tracked Class Three, Grade One to study throughout the day. It’s helpful not only to observe teachers and students in the class, but also to capture students’recess activities. During the break time, the author could interview students and communicate with them to learn more about their inner world. Two and a half months’later, the author interviewed with10teachers of different subjects in different grades on the theme of "respect education discussion" to learn their cognition and experience. In the third month of the survey, the author selected12classes and carried out300questionnaires. The questionnaire includes several dimensions to reflect the situation of respect education in junior high school, such as the respect of life, personality, interests, personality development, and relationship between teachers and students. The three months’close contact with the first-line teaching is benefit for collecting abundant materials.This paper is made of four parts:The first part is an introduction which contains the reason why this topic is selected, theory evidences, and the present situation about respect education research.The second part is "Subject explanation:the connotation and origin of respect education" This section mainly illuminates the meaning of respect and respect education, and analyzes its historical and educational backgrounds. And then it analyses the characteristics and necessity of respect education in junior high school. The third part is "Probing into education scene:empirical investigation in junior high school". In this section, research objects and empirical research methods are illustrated. It emphasizes the differential understandings on respect education between teachers and students in the same field, as well as different groups of students. This part will base on the sort and analysis of the case study.The last part is "Finding a way out:approaches of respect education in junior high school" Practical strategy of fulfilling respect education in school will be put forward from the micro aspects on the basis of above researches. It contains some feasible suggestions, such as the cultivation of "five" teachers, focus on the respect of recessive education, banning the use of educational taboo words, etc.
