Teachers don’t respect every student equally in school education. Actually, they more inclined to respect those who do well in study, family background, parents and teachers have the interests of the exchanges and contacts. The phenomenon, that discriminating people’s dignity because of the external factors of the man, is called selective respect. There are many characteristics in selective respect, like surface, relativity, and frail, grade, utilitarian and snobbish. Selective respect in school has something different particularity, for example, easily occur, not sensitive, large lethality. Selective respect is not the real respect, which based on one’s morality, personality and equal rights. However, the selective respect is in view of people’s power, wealth, and reputation and so on. The mendacious selective respect is the helper to the reproduction of social estate.It also damage human nature, as well as interpersonal relationship and psychology. This paper, which from four aspects about hierarchy, utilitarianism, over-competition, system of education, is tried to reveal the origin of selective respect. In order to solve the problem of selective respect, this paper also put forward a proposal about universal respect in school life, where every student’s personality and rights are respected equally.
