As we have a better understanding of right cerebral hemisphere,new trends inexploring brain are found to develop people’s visualization thinking. Based onSperry’s brain theory of division of labor and Gardiner’s theory of multipleintelligence,author explains creativity originates from visualization thinking,which isthe major function of right cerebral hemisphere.School education is the most effective way to cultivate visualization thinking.Chinese has plenty of visualized information,which can be helpful to developstudents’visualization thinking when they are learning. Carrying out tests on abilityof visualization thinking between art students and ordinary ones in senior highschool,comparing and analyzing the data from the tests,author has the conclusionthat:after years of professional art training,art students usually have developedbetter ability of visualization thinking than common ones. To illustrate the situationof teaching and learning,author also did a lot of questionnaire surveys andinterviews about the application of visualization thinking among art students andChinese teachers.Considering art students’way of thinking,based on the intensive study oftextbook,author presents the principals、methods and significance of usingvisualization thinking in Chinese teaching.
