Thinking is the core of intellect. It is the proper usage of its own unique thinking ability that human beings can learn the world, change the world, and create the brilliant material civilization as well as mental civilization continuously. In this case, the world competition today, in the final analysis, is thinking competition.American educator John Dewey thought that, in terms of the intellectual capacity of students, what schools could do for students or had the necessity to do was nothing but to cultivate their thinking ability.As the teaching of mother tongue, Chinese teaching must undertake the great responsibility and play a very important role in developing the thinking ability of the students, which can not be shirked.But why the development of the students' thinking ability should be carried out by Chinese teaching; what kinds of ability should be cultivated; how to train them scientifically; what actual effect can be got through training; all those are the key points which will be discussed in the passage.The dissertation consists of two main parts: The first part mainly discusses the significance of the thinking training in Chinese teaching. Firstly, to begin with the relative theories, thinking patterns including images, abstracts and creativeness, can be reflected in the Chinese teaching, and then analyze the development of these three patterns in the stage of senior high school respectively. Secondly, to begin with the inner essence of Chinese subject— the dialectical unity of language and thoughts, have a good look of the international research of the thoughts training in native language, and make clear the thoughts training required by Chinese outline, then state the necessity and importance of carrying out the thoughts training in the research of Chinese teaching.How to cultivate the students' thoughts of images, abstracts and creativeness scientifically through Chinese teaching will be discussed in the second part.
