Under the background of new curriculum reform of education,it is core concept that based on "people-oriented,and the development of students".The teaching activities take the student as the center,generally attaches great importance to the subjectivity of students' development,and make students get all-round development of body and mind.This main goal of Middle school geography new curriculum standard is to develop and cultivate students' innovation ability and thinking ability.Its also put forward to let students learn the geography that is useful for life and students' lifelong development to cultivate students' learning ability and practical ability.Under the guidance of educational policy of "cultivating morality and cultivating people",it has become the main education direction to educate innovative talents conforming to the development of the new era.In order to adapt to the current trend of new curriculum reform,teachers are encouraged to constantly innovate in teaching activities.With the rapid development of The Times,innovative talents have become the source of power and important support for social development and progress.Because of that,on the basis of reform for the new curriculum,in junior middle school,it focuses on cultivating students' learning ability and practical ability.The investigation found that junior high school students need to study with image thinking ability,but they can't master it.Due to the disadvantages of exam-oriented education,some teachers in classroom teaching do not pay much attention to cultivate students' thinking ability.And especially in junior high schools,some non-professional teachers also could teach students.Not only that,it is quite serious that a teacher cram students,and students lack subjectivity in learning.Some teachers neglect to teach students how to learn and think by themselves..And the geography textbooks of junior high school,images are the majority.Through the image to teach,not only can develop students' space imagination ability,but also can cultivate their image thinking ability and provide their learning ability in order to promote the all-round development of students.According to the theory of behaviorism,constructivism theory,multiple intelligence theory,humanistic learning theory,geography teaching theory and other theories,on the basis of reading related literature,through the questionnaire method and the practical teaching experience,and taking the Xihe city middle school in Huaiyang,Zhoukou as an example,this article will research the status quo about cultivating image thinking ability for junior high school geography based on the image teaching.This paper draws the following conclusions through this research.Firstly,some junior middle school geography teachers lack professional quality,and there are few junior middle school teachers majoring in geography.And under the background of exam-oriented education,the school pays more attention to the graduation rate of students.While geography is not included in the scope of the secondary school entrance examination,they cannot get the attention and support from the school.Secondly,students' interest in learning geography can not be stimulated,because of the lack of innovative teaching methods and the serious phenomenon of full classroom filling,and students lacking subjectivity,following the teacher completely,not having enough time to think independently,and the classroom content being not novel enough.Third,due to the characteristics of students' physical and mental development,some students' thinking ability developments actively relatively,that through the images of the classroom teaching and drawing training can well develop their image thinking ability and also improve their own learning ability.However,some students are weak in geography and can not become focused,so they could not finish the task in time in the classroom.Fourth,the learning environment has certain limitations.Fifth,there are grade differences in junior high school students' ability to read pictures.Based on the practical teaching experience,this paper puts forward some countermeasures: junior middle school geography teachers should improve their professional quality;Stimulate students' interest in learning geography by combining with their life knowledge of geography;Through the group cooperation inquiry learning form,improves the geography classroom efficiency;Cultivate junior high school students' ability to read pictures,carry out drawing training,and guide students to translate pictures and pictures correctly in the teaching process.
