Under the influence of the senior high school entrance examination, in order topursue the enrollment rate, the mathematics teaching in junior high schools stilladopt the traditional teaching mode. Apparently it can not fully meet therequirements of the new curriculum ideas, which focus on helping students to obtaintheir understanding of mathematical knowledge, and concerning the subjectivity andcreativity of students. By now there have been some more mature modes of teaching.Even though they may reflect the curriculum ideas, they may not be so efficient inthe consolidation of the students’ basic knowledge.The goal-oriented teaching sheet studied in this paper is based on presentingthe teacher as a guide and students as subject. It is the combination of the teacher’sguide and the students’ learning, and the teacher’s teaching plan and students’learning process. It is a new teaching method to develop the teaching resources toadapt to the new curriculum ideas. It mainly contains fives parts: the two-wayteaching objectives, pre-class preparation, teaching process, in-class testing, and thetracing of the results.This paper is based on the research on the application of the goal-orientedteaching sheet in junior high school mathematics teaching. The research is done in acommon junior high school in Songjiang District, Shanghai. The tested students arestudents of Grade six the writer is teaching. The theoretical foundation is based onknowledge classification and goal-oriented teaching theory and learning pyramidtheory. The main research methods are action research, questionnaires, andinterviews.Through the comparison of student achievements, questionnaires andinterviews between teachers and students, the paper got the strengths andweaknesses of the goal-oriented teaching sheet. The advantages are it can effectivelyimprove the students interest and confidence, train students the ability to previewand to reflect, enhance the teachers’ professional quality, and can effectivelyimprove the efficiency of in-class teaching. Meanwhile it still has some shortcomings: the disjoint of the teaching and learning, some teachers teaching lack of personality,some in-class teaching losing its mystique.Finally, based on the findings of this study, the paper put forward some adviceon the application of the goal-oriented teaching sheet.
