Daily living skills is the essential ability for the people adpte the social and achieve independent life. But for the foctors such as cognition, emotion, attention, the children with autism may have many difficulties on acquiring daily living skills. And how to enhance the autistic children’s daily living skills ability is the foucus of current teaching requirements. Video modeling which is based on social learning theory and combines with the characteristics of children with autism has been used in teaching the children with autism. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects on daily living skills of children with autism by video modeling intervention. A single-subject experimental design of multiple probes design across behaviors was used in this study. Two boys of four years old with autism were participant in this study. The independent variable was video modeling intervention. The dependent variable was the percentage of the sequences of scripted behaviors. Experimental treatment subjects receive four periods, respectively, for the baseline period (A), the teaching intervention period (B), the generalized period(C), the maintain the period (M). Visual analysis method and C analysis method were used to analyze the effctiveness of video modeling intervention in this study. Evaluation interviews of the parents and teachers were used to collect the data for social validity. According to data analyzed and social validity, major consequences of this study were as follows:(1)Video modeling intervention could improve the sequences of scripted motor responses outcomes.(2)Video modeling intervention could have some motor generalized outcomes, but the generalized levels on different activities were not the same.(3)Video modeling intervention could improve the sequences of scripted motor manatained outcomes. In addition, according to the results of the study disscused the effects of the reasons and put forword some principles to the teachers and parents, such as (1) assess learning ability accurately (2) make video normaly (3) ensure apporiate time and frequency (4) combine with prompting and enhancement methods (5) apply proactive inhibition reasonably (6) create similar enviorment to accelerate generalization.
