Oral English communicative competence is the best skill which can let students realize the practical purpose.During the teaching in rural senior high school, however, limited by the conditions of school and students, it is often difficult for teachers to carry out the teaching of spoken English, and the teaching method is limited to the traditional Grammar Translation. So many students are afraid of speaking English, or have no interest in it, which in turn has an effect on their English learning.According to the condition of rural senior high school and the character of students, I use imitation-on-speaking model in my class, and explore a proper model suitable for the teaching of oral English for rural senior high school.Different research methods are adopted, including empirical approaches of questionnaire, statistical analysis and observation.Through the experiment, finally, I draw a conclusion that imitation-on-speaking model can develop students’ interest in oral English effectively, motivate their enthusiasm for learning and improve their ability of spoken English, in the condition that the phenomenon of large class English education exists in rural senior high schools. The purpose of doing this is to provide reference to the English teachers in rural senior high school. Thus we can teach students spoken English more effectively.
