Education for International Understanding is an important content of the new curriculum reform of basic education, in "National long-term Education Reform and Development Plan", The first time put forward the international talents training objectives, Clear requirements "training a large number of international perspective, familiar with international rules, international talents to participate in international affairs and international competition.International understanding education is the educational philosophy. We use this philosophy to improve the range of knowledge, attitudes and skills of the learners. In order for the people of the world live in harmony in the global village. In the past half a century, it has made great experience to promote international understanding education process in South Korea. In1954South Korea established UNESCO Korean Committee, added to UNESCO’s activities, launched theInternational Understanding Education, and develop year by year. In2000Asia-Pacific International Understanding Education Center was established in South korea, which Continued to reform and innovation. This paper uses document investigation method, comparative research method and analysis method to elaborates and analyzes the policy, measure of International Understanding Education in South Korea, in order to sum up its experience and lessons and to provide reference for a better construction and development of Chinese International Understanding Education.In this paper constitutes four parts. In the first part of the introduction which briefly described the purpose, significance and the resarch method of this paper and introduces the current studies of International Understanding Education in domastic and overseas. Secondly it exposes the theory, background and development process about International Understanding Education. In the third part, it introduces the policies and measures in Korean middle school education for international understanding. In the fourth part, it is carefully elaborates the practice of International Understanding Education in Korean middle schools, which mainly comprising Subject Teaching and Several activities in Korean middle schools. In the last part, it sums up the experience and problems of the Korean middle international understanding education, make some suggestions in China;Formulate policy for International Understanding Education;use the advantage of disciplines and developing international understanding education; through the organization of special events to launch International understanding education;Improve the quality of teachers;Encourage the support and participation of all social forces.
