The Globalization wave has begun sweeping human life comprehensively over the past three decades, including education. To meet the challenges, the Ministry of Education in China puts Education for International Understanding(EIU) into practice widely, promotes cross-cultural communication, enhances students’ understanding of the different countries, different cultures, and respects for diverse culture in some education policies, like "Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020)","Compulsory Education Chinese Curriculum Standards(2011)". Chinese Textbook is so important that it’s not only the carrier of Chinese Curriculum Standard, but also the main link between teachers and students. In order to analyze the resource of EIU in Chinese Textbook of senior high school which published by People’s Education Press(PEP) in2009, this study builds conceptions of EIU in three dimensions:international challenges, international culture, international connections, applies content analysis, and draws conclusions as follows:There are several advantages in the Chinese Textbook for EIU:first, the percentage is reasonable and stable; second, the themes present broadly; third, the type of literature is diverse; fourth, the articles selected by the editor of Chinese Textbook indicate not only understanding self but also others. However, there are also a few of disadvantages:first, the number of the article decreases with increasing of grade; second, the content of the articles are inclining to powerful countries; third, the articles don’t present the changes of contemporary era; fourth, the view of male-centered orientation weakens the contribution of women to society; last but not least, rather than the aims to capacity and practice, the articles fix more on propose of knowledge.According to the results, this study makes implications in four aspects:the Chinese Curriculum Standards, teaching materials, classroom teaching, and teacher training.
