Limit thought, the concept used to research the various trends that the variables take on in the process of infinite change via numbers, is conducive to the application of the math curriculum standards and the implementation of the method of the process of mathematical thinking and enables the students to experience the simple beauty of mathematics so as to improve the mathematical ability of students. Moreover, limit thought is beneficial to convergence between secondary school mathematics and university mathematics and the improvement of problem-solving ability of students. However, during the practice of mathematic teaching, the notion of limit has not been universal implemented and students are still very unfamiliar with the idea of limit. This paper attempts to describe all aspects of limit thought, including mathematical ideological connotations, development, basic theory plus teaching value and so on. On the basis of methodology and the analysis of the relationship between limit thought and Calculus, the paper holds a further discussion into the implementation of the limit thought in all ways of the mathematics teaching procedure in secondary school. To promote the ability to understand the idea of limit thought, some typical examples related to the area of polygon with curved edges and the instantaneous velocity as well as function, three-dimensional geometry, inequalities, plane geometry, number of columns are analyzed to improve the understanding and the perception of limit thought and present the simplicity and superiority of the way of limit thought to solve mathematic problems.
