The emotions play an important role in the process of the pupils’ psychological development;negative emotions also affect an important aspect of pupils’ mental health. The pupils’ psychologicaldevelopment is affected by various aspects, especially from the parents’. Parents reactions are divided intotwo aspects: supportive reactions (encourage expression of emotion, emotion-focused reactions andproblems-focused reactions) and non-supportive reactions (punitive responses, minimizing responses andparental distress reactions).This study selected192third-grade and fifth-grade pupils and their parents as a test, examinedthe negative emotional reaction of the pupils and parents reactions, and the relationship between them. Instudy1, we research the negative emotion response characteristics of the third-grade and fifth-grade pupilsthrough the emotional contexts story interview; in study2, we investigate the parents’ reactions, researchthe parents’ negative emotional reactions and the relationship between the pupils’ negative emotionalreactions and the parents’ negative emotional reactions.Based on the above two studies, we get the main conclusions:(1) The negative emotion type which pupils express in the negative condition has differencesin grade and gender. The grade five pupils express more ashamed or sad emotional reactions, and the gradethree pupils express more emotional reaction that it does not matter; boys express more angry while girlsmore ashamed or sad emotional reaction. The strength of the emotional reaction which pupils express innegative conditions has differences in grade. Grade five pupils express higher emotional reaction strength.(2) Pupils has significant differences in learning level and grade when they express willing inthe face of negative emotion. The excellent students are more willing to tell their parents their own negativeemotions while poor students conceal their own negative emotion; grader three pupils are more willing totell their parents their own negative emotion, whoever tell mother alone, tell father alone or tell both ofthem; grader five pupils will choose to tell their parents neither.(3)There are differences in the learning level and grade about the reason stated on pupilswhether or not tell parents their negative emotion. Excellent pupils have significant higher score on pro-social reaction and interpersonal support while poor students get higher score on self-protection, andthe score on tools support of the grader three is significant higher than grader five, while the scores ofgrader five in self-protection and to accept the fact are higher than that of the grader three.(4)Pupils have remarkable differences in the learning level, grade and gender in subsequentbehavior after negative emotions. On problem to solve orientation and seeking to help excellent studentsget higher score on the emotional venting behavior; the score of grader five in diversionary behavior issignificantly higher than that of grader three; the score of girls in emotional venting behavior issignificantly higher than that of boys, and boys get higher score in the transfer the attention behavior.(5) The parents response ways to pupils’ negative emotion has significant difference in thegender of parents. Compared to mother, father shows more support reaction response.(6)There is significantly positive relationship which exists emotional strength and supportivereaction between negative emotional reaction of primary students and parents reactions. On expression ofwilling, there is significantly negative relationship between the reaction just telling fathers and the parents’emotional-focused reactions, but positive relationship between the reaction just telling fathers’ and theparents’ supportive reactions. On subsequent acts of primary pupils, there is positive-relationship betweenacts reaction of solving problem and parents’ minimizing responses, while there is significantly negativerelationship between the self-protection acts of pupils and the parents’ problem-focused reactions.There is significantly relationship which exists emotional reaction and parents’ responses.
