In high school chemistry knowledge of Elements and Compounds is the main part of the course content. But students always feel confused when come to it’s complexity and fragmentation. This study analyzes different level on senior high school students. It can be drawn that students lack of chemical thinking skills to comprehend basic material response, thus they pay more attention to a large number of chemical equation. Because of this we devote to the basic laws of chemical reactions and thinking skill which could develop students’ cognitive methods. Thesis designed analysis of chemical reactions in the teaching process and did research on teaching practice.This study place on two parallel classes in the NO.1railway middle school in Guangzhou, applying contrast experiment to teaching practice.We Collected students’ chemistry scores between the science experimental classes and control classes, also analyzed the data by Statistical Product and Service Solutions software before the experiment and after the experiment. The study drawn that, on one hand, students master the basic laws of chemical reactions that can significantly improve the academic performance of elements and compounds; on the other hand, students in different chemical grades can get different magnitude improvement even students in medium and poor level have substantial increase on scores.Therefore, students who master the basic laws of chemical reaction can promote the understanding of elements and compounds.In addition, this study applies interview survey method to research in learning of elements and compounds in senior high school students. It shows that students in science experimental classes have significant changes in thinking skill when they got the basic laws of chemical reaction. Now they recognize the chemical reaction by reasoning method.For example, before the experiment,students obtained the knowledge of the chemical reaction product by the experimental phenomenons or the teachers’ explanation.In contrast, they can reason the results by using the basic laws of the chemical reaction. Students’ thinking ability significantly improved, also has greatly improved in learning initiative and correct resistance.Research shows that griping the basic laws of chemical reactions can change the way students’ understanding of chemical reactions,to improve medium and poor level students’ learning skill, to address the plight of students’ ability of learning the knowledge of elements and compounds.
